COMPANY OPINION ON CURRENT SHIP DESIGN AND THEIR IMPACT ON CARGO CARRYING CAPABILITIES
The design of the ship must consider its purpose. its expected operational region and its anticipated long-term regulatory environment. The majority of today's ships were built with the purpose of carrying cargo and goods. Unfortunately, there were many ships designed to carry containerized cargoes when using the sea as a route of transportation. The design of the ship must enable efficient movement of goods across the world’s ocean and seas.
The size of the ship also important to bring the cargoes. They must build the design based on the capability of the cargo that can be on the journey of the shipment. Furthermore, today’s largest container ship can carry about 24,000 TEUs for one shipment to across the world. The company said, it is good for economy profit that can be bring from the import and export activities that mostly people buy the goods online, so the goods will be bring by the ship to reach at the port and deliver to the customers. Besides more than 40 feet of water is now needed to accommodate the biggest container vessels. Most ports across the world do not have channels this deep, making it impossible or very challenging for many to obtain dredging permits. As a result, the ports are unable to respond to the demands of the larger ships. So, the port can provide services transshipment in the middle of the sea with unload and load the goods even the bid vessel cannot reach to the port due to some obstacle.
Unfortunately, the ship design nowadays very gives an impact to sea logistics, and it is does to make them stay sustain for the industry.
